About Us
About Us
The idea of 100+ for the Earth developed from a conversation at a Durango Climate Study Group meeting about how only 3% of all charitable giving in the U.S. goes to environmental or animal causes (Giving USA 2024). Familiar with 100+ Women Who Care La Plata and the hundreds of similar giving circle groups across the country, we thought why not start such a group dedicated to supporting local nonprofits focused on environmental solutions?
100+ for the Earth Southwest Colorado was founded in 2025 by Carrie Denman, Darcy Hitchcock and Gale Zander Barlow. They volunteer their time to organize and run 100+ for the Earth.

Our Mission Statement
When we come together to share and learn about local environmental nonprofits, we create community. When we combine our resources, we can make a greater impact.
Thank you to the Telegraph for this great article!
Correction: Members nominate nonprofits before the meeting. If more than 3 nominations are made, a fishbowl drawing takes place before the meeting to determine the 3 nonprofits that will be pitched at the meeting.
